Key Responsibilities

1. Odoo Development & Customization:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality custom Odoo modules using Python and XML.
  • Customize existing Odoo modules (Sales, Inventory, Accounting, HR, Manufacturing, etc.) to fit specific internal business requirements.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and XML-RPC for third-party application synchronization.
  • Create professional reports (QWeb, PDF, XLS) and interactive dashboards.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to Odoo coding standards and best practices.

2. Server Deployment & Infrastructure:

  • Manage the full deployment lifecycle of Odoo instances on Linux servers (Ubuntu/Debian).
  • Configure and maintain web servers (Nginx/Apache) as reverse proxies with SSL implementation.
  • Set up and manage Docker containers for development and production environments (optional, depending on your stack).
  • Implement automated backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for PostgreSQL databases and Odoo filestores.

3. Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting:

  • Analyze and optimize Odoo server performance (workers, memory limits, CPU usage).
  • Optimize PostgreSQL database queries and indexing for faster transaction processing.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, logs, and bugs in a production environment.
  • Monitor system health and implement load balancing if necessary.

4. Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Gather technical requirements from internal stakeholders and translate them into solution architecture.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Document technical specifications, user guides, and system configurations.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Python development, with at least 3+ years dedicated to Odoo (Versions 17/18+).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Python and PostgreSQL.
    • Deep understanding of Odoo architecture (ORM, MVC, External API, Widgets).
    • Proficiency in frontend technologies: JavaScript (Owl framework), XML, HTML, CSS/SCSS.
    • Strong Linux System Administration skills (Bash scripting, Cron jobs, security hardening).
    • Experience with Git (GitHub/GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Odoo.sh or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, DigitalOcean).
  • Knowledge of mobile app development (Odoo Mobile or Flutter/React Native integration).
  • Contributions to the Odoo Community Association (OCA).
  • Experience migrating Odoo databases between major versions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing communications or brand management
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills
